The Mental Health Association of Morris County is currently hiring for the following position:

Community Life Coach:  Full-time paraprofessional position with the innovative Residential Intensive Support Team (RIST) providing in-home supportive services including coaching in activities of daily living to customers living in their own apartments.  We are currently looking for people with successful recovery experience from mental illness to help others get well via a mentoring relationship.  Completion of the Consumer Connection’s CORE training is helpful, but not necessary.  These shifts are somewhat flexible, but require working Sunday and Saturday.

Key Responsibilities

  • Searching for grant opportunities for housing and neighborhood planning activities
  • Assisting Director of Real Estate Development in securing permanent and construction financing, including applications for conventional financing or municipal, state, and federal housing programs.
  • Working with property management consultants to ensure that projects are well maintained and operating efficiently
  • Undertaking, overseeing and completing all required
    predevelopment paperwork
  • Overseeing rental vouchers and associated compliance requirements
  • Developing project related marketing plans and managing the rent-up/sales process
  • Meeting with stakeholders concerning projects
    projects assigned.


Prospective applicants must have a Bachelors’ degree in a relevant field with experience in affordable housing development, preferably involving subsidized housing projects; experience managing projects from acquisition through completion, including community approvals and public/private financial structuring; knowledge of the real estate market, property management and asset management for operating projects; knowledge of rental voucher programs and compliance requirements; ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external executives and organizations; excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills; good organizational skills; knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word, project planning software a plus; and ability to work independently.  Attractive salary and benefits package will be provided.
