Family Success Centers
Department of Children and Families funds a statewide network of Family Success Centers as “one-stop” shops that provide wrap-around resources and supports for families before they find themselves in crisis.

Since 1984, HomeSharing's mission is to prevent homelessness by matching "Providers" - residents who need to share their homes or apartments in order to maintain them, with "Seekers" - individuals searching for affordable housing in the community. HomeSharing also assists its clients in locating and utilizing other resources such as the Food Bank, low-cost medical care, and other support services. The organization's services are provided free of charge to our clients. HomeSharing is unique. We are the only agency in New Jersey using the shared housing model to serve the working poor whose incomes are at or below the poverty level and who are not eligible for other social services. We provide services in Union, Middlesex, Somerset, Hunterdon and Morris Counties. We are proud to report that, during 2013 we assisted a total of 2,828 individuals; maintained/created 184 housing matches (representing 368 families and 473 people; and provided 84,614 nights of shelter. We help people who cannot afford the high cost of living in the community such as: those working more than one job; single parents; older adults on fixed incomes who need help paying taxes and utilities or who need companionship or assistance; those with disabilities who need some help around the house; and people recently downsized, laid off and on unemployment.
