Volunteers of America psychiatric rehabilitation programs offer supportive residential care to people living with severe and persistent mental illness, including specialized services for those with dual-diagnoses of mental illness and chemical addiction, and developmentally disabilities. The programs emphasize recovery through skill development and linkage to community resources.

Associate Program Directore is needed to supervise the delivery of services to consumers with mental illness in supervised housing settings and coordinate quality improvement activities. This position requires a Master's degree in a mental health related discipline, a NJ clinical license and two years supervisory experience. Experience working in residential settings and quality improvement initiatives preferred.

Program Manager (Perth Amboy) is responsible for the daily operations and overall management of a residential health care facility serving persons with co-occurring psychiatric and medical illness. A Master's degree in a mental health related discipline and 2 years' experience is required. New Jersey clinical license and supervisory experience is preferred.

Program Manager (Plainfield) is responsible for the daily operation of a residential group home in Union County serving adults with developmental disabilities and mental illness. A Master’s degree in a human service field, along with 1 year of residential supervisory experience in a developmental disabilities setting is required.

Residential Counselor
A Residential Counselor is responsible for assisting in the case management and service plan implementation for adults in our residential programs. A bachelor’s degree in a mental health or human services related discipline is preferred, or high school diploma or the equivalent, plus four years of related work experience. Valid drivers license with a clean driving record also required.
