The Supportive Housing Association of New Jersey's Federal & State Supportive Housing Funding Guide is a resource created to help organizations better understand the complex funding sources available to them. This guide reviews current funding sources such as the HOME Program, Affordable Housing Trust Fund, National Housing Trust Fund, Special Needs Housing Trust Fund, and more. The document lays out  clear guidelines for each program as well as provides examples of New Jersey projects which have secured funding through these sources. As the network of state and local funding is fluid and ever-changing this guide is current as of 4/22/2026. SHA will work to update this document as needed.

Zoe Karch interned with SHA through the Baruch College Hagedorn Internship Award program. The funding is made available to students at the Marxe School of Public and International Affairs who participate in an internship position at a public service nonprofit organization or government agency.

Amara Thompkins joined SHA in the summer of 2025 as a Community Scholar through a program directed by SHA member the Housing and Community Development Network of New Jersey. Amara assisted in the development of this resource while pursuing her Master’s degree in City and Regional Planning at the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy. Her degree concentration covers Community Development and Housing, along with Design and Development/ Redevelopment. She currently serves as a fellow with ANHD.
